Sports Ministry
Worried about taking on another big summer event?
Sports Camp is an easy, non-budget busting ministry!
The church leader (Children's Pastor or Church member) will only have four primary reponsibilities:
1)
Camp Promotion
: YMI will provide downloadable fliers, posters, bulletins, ect. The church leader is responsible for distributing and spreading the news about camp at your church.
2)
Finances
: The church leader works with the church to get the $600 deposit in by the determined deadline, collects registration fees, and sends the remaining registration fees to YMI after camp.
3)
Meals and Housing for YMI team
: The church leader ensures that the YMI team is housed and fed breakfast, lunch and dinner during the week of camp.
4)
Church Volunteers
: The church leader is responsible for recruiting volunteers to be assistant coaches, and daily registration table workers.
YMI will provide:
- Trained staff of coaches to lead Basketball, Soccer, and Cheer, and Baseball.
- Necessary resources on-site for the running of the camp.
- A volunteer training session the Sunday before camp where an overview of the ministry, volunteer roles in, and songs will be given.
- Promotional materials and Sports Event Manual.
- Collaboration in advertisement for the camp.
Worried about Church Budgeting?
Churches who put on sports camps typically break even on costs.
- YMI charges $35 per child attending, this covers t-shirts and curriculum. Churches can add an additional cost per child to help cover facility and maintenence costs.
- YMI charges $12.50 per volunteer t-shirt. This can be charged to the volunteers or covered by the church.
- A down payment of $600 is needed up front so that YMI can order materials and begin the training process. This deposit is applied toward the total cost of child registration fees.
- $300 for the traveling fees of the YMI team is required for the transportation to and from the site of the camp as YMI will be sending the team from Washington State. (Only for non-WA state churches).
