Youth Missions International Leaders
So, you want to be a leader of a Youth Missions International Regional Team? You've come to the right place! By clicking on the link below and printing out a Leader Application, you will be on your way to one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. When you turn in an application and are accepted you and your spouse – or if you are single you and other leaders like you – will be sent to a Training Camp where you will go through a Leader Orientation and then matched up with the youth you will be leading in the field.
What does it take to become a YMI Regional Team Leader? Put simply, you need to have a genuine love of God, love for youth and a passion to see them grow in their faith in Jesus Christ. Aside from these things, you need to:
- Have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Be a minimum age of 23.
- Demonstrate ability to use good judgment and common sense regarding safety of people placed in their care. This includes functioning in unknown and sometimes difficult situations.
- Have been recommended by two people, one being your Pastor or church leadership.
- Display good attitudes, be able to work with people, be able to follow directions, and have adaptability to people, cultures, difficult situations, and team assignments.
- Be able to make a clear Gospel presentation.
- Be growing spiritually with demonstrated ability to bring a Bible challenge to teens and adults.
- Be flexible, a team player who builds team spirit.
- Be actively involved in a local church.
- Be in good health and physically able to lead a team of active young people.
- Submit completed appropriate volunteer application annually.
These two requirements will be done at your first Training Camp:
- Successfully complete Youth Missions International Child Protection Training.
- Complete YMI Leader Orientation.
